Meet Merridie, LIMHP

My passion for helping others began early in my career while working at Mosaic in Axtell, supporting individuals with disabilities. This experience taught me the importance of meeting people where they are, recognizing their strengths, and honoring each person's unique journey.

While completing my graduate studies, I worked full-time at Boys Town in Central Nebraska. First in the In-Home Family Services Program and later in the Foster Care Program. In these roles, I partnered with families navigating complex challenges, including involvement with the juvenile justice system and child welfare system. These experiences deepened my understanding of trauma, family dynamics, and the power of supportive relationships in creating meaningful change.

After earning my graduate degree, I worked as a Clinical Therapist at Boone County Health Center in Albion. Here I provided counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. In this role, I had the privilege of helping clients navigate a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship struggles, and women’s health challenges.

These experiences allow me to bring both professional expertise and genuine empathy to the therapy room. I especially have a passion for working with clients experiencing grief, women’s mental health, caregivers, and clients who have experienced medical trauma. I understand that healing is not linear, and I strive to create a space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered as they move forward.
